Pulling the amp from the case:  Remove the four Philips screws on the rear panel and the two chrome Philips screws with flanges on the top,  to release the housing. The only connection is the wire from the amp to the speaker mounted to the face of the housing.

Note wire to face mounted speaker.

In the Kantana head, the Phones/REC out connector is mounted to a separate board. The board is removed via the hex nuts on the ¼ jacks and one small screw.

The board can be removed by releasing the multi-pin wiring connectors and the spade terminals to the speaker. I snipped one wire tie on a cable bundle as well.

Locating the Phones/REC out jack, this mod is simply done by shorting the ground lug connector of the jack. Image here shows testing of the mod.

To install this mod on my amp I took a micros SPDT switch and wired up to the jack as shown.

I located a good spot to mount the switch in the housing. And drilled a matching hole for the switch.

With the board reinstalled the switch mounts in its hole.

Looks good on the panel.

With the amp fully reassembled, it was ready to pull back in the housing. Tests good. Now I can jam to an iPod input jam track (while listening to the sound via my speaker cab) and record my jam via the REC out at the same time. Awesome!!
